Flood Monitors
The parish council has already installed one electronic flood monitor by the bridge in the centre of Perranwell and at its meeting on 8 August 2024 agreed to the installation of a second flood monitor at Bissoe Bridge. The area around Bissoe Bridge has been subject to severe flooding in recent years, with the road closed for months at a time.
The new monitor will provide round-the-clock information on the water level on the road adjacent to the bridge and send automatic alerts when the level reaches a dangerous level. This is one of the measures being taken by the parish council to increase community resilience.
